 Sewing Something All The 'Time'

The key word here is time ...all the time...we don't have.

I work 10 hours a day 4 days and 7 hours the 5th day.  I don't have any more time than anyone else. On my two days off I spend going to my many doctors, the laundromat and normal errands, like picking up my prescriptions.  But I like clothes.  No, I know it is harder if you have others to take care of.  Here I am using time to blog.  The pic below looks messy but...A.  My shoes are stacked so I can grab them to go with whatever.  The clothes are outfits hung together on velvet hangers so I don't have to search for matching parts.   The papers on the wallcloth behind are parts I use all the time.  The pattern envelope is so I know what number pattern piece I am looking for that I use over and over again.  i.e.   Ziplock bag with the jacket parts I use in my freeflowing jackets.   I have made so many they would fall apart....so create-a-pattern is great and does not wear out or rip and is a pellon, but sheer enough to trace and stable enough to write your adjustments and sizes.

The key is planning.  So, if you take a day and lay out what you want to make and cut out the fabric and stack next to your sewing machine with the plans, when you have a little time, you just whip them together....LOL...sounds easier than it is.

Life is too short to wear boring clothes.

I am planning an outfit with a jacket lined in red minky and dress has a classy lady in a hat and shirtwaist and maybe a hat to match... we will see..

visions in my mind..

My friend who drove me to my doctors appts when my eyesight left and I couldn't see is taking clothes for payments.

Her first installement was this jacket.  She went to GStreetfabrics and picked the fabric.  I used my freeflowing jacket style and the fabric had a border, so I cut the border off and made a banding with some flat quilt batting to put on the front edges and made 3/4 length sleeves, so she could play her guitar and put the edging on the sleeves too.

She asked for a jacket with the view from her window...Natures Concerto

This is the fabric I made using a picture I had taken of her view, above.  It needs to be finished today.

A list.... My day off and a plan... tomorrow to work at noon.

The jacket above...

F palazzo pants that are cut out...

Mulberry Pullover shirt and a

jacket to go with it.

A Plan and a Purpose
