Little Details.... New Wardrobe pieces

Just got back from 3 Wonderful calm weeks
at the Beach....Love the Beach

I have been wanting to do this outfit.   If you were not there when I wore it at work... well It is Flourescent Coral!!!  I love colorful finds.

You can see I made a pair of earrings to go with the pants color, the crop top color and the floral jacket color fabric.

All fabrics, except for the jackets come from Gstreetfabrics, where I work.

As you can see I have many scarves.  I make a scarf and earrings first for every piece of an outfit.  Then I am forced to finish the outfit so I can wear them all together.

I found a scrap of dark green chiffon that hung beautifully, so I made a couple of scarves out of it, because I wear many floral designs that have dark green leaves and thought it would be a nice add to any other color scarves to give a classy feminine accent.

The jacket is one of my free flowing jackets...I have many designs, they are my designs...the print on the chiffon.
I do this with https://www.kittyscatscratches.com/...if you see one I post that you would love to make yourself, or just use the fabric for something, I have a little store on Spoonflower of my designs.  You can purchase the fabric directly and have it sent to you.

The top with this outfit is a simple draw the straps where you want them to hit...for me it is to cover up my undergarment straps.
Make the scoop neck the drop you want and just cut it on the fold.  The sweater fabric was very very thin and light, so I folded the wide fabric twice in and then folded it over so I would have 4 folds to cut out 1 time and get a front and a back twice.

I did the side seams on the front and back twice and then pinned the two shells together right side together and did the seam around the bottom.  This made it hang comfortably without a hem.  I pinned the edges of the sleeveholes and the neckline in a quarter inch on both sides and just did a slip stitch, including the tiny shoulder seam.   I loved the way it came out and hung.  I made the length so it just went below my waist and hit my hips.

These pants were the ones that I love... I have a beautiful dark bluegreen pair, a very orange yellow pair , a pair of two layer chiffon type light yellow and a sort of ruby red pair.  I made the same type of pants with tie waist, but simpler and pilazzo type legs in Lime Green.  On the outfit pile, of in line and not yet made,  I have navy blue, off white and black.

These are quick and easy to make.  The thing with this that takes the longest is the waist band.  The waistband piece is a  little wider and it has quarter inch elastic through the top and the bottom and a center casing for a string, which I always make out of the same fabric.  So comfy, but able to cinch to the tightness you want by the string.  I make the waistband after sewing the pants part together and just sew it onto the pants top matching the front back and side seams.  Sew close to the bottom row of stitching on the elastic channel and flip and then topstitch neatly on.  SO COMFY.

Last part of this outfit.  My favorite assymetrical free flowing jackets of my design, but in this one I fluted the end of the sleeve by sewing inward and out.  I did a rolled hem double stitched and finishing off with a tiny bit of green lace is the detail on this jacket that makes me like it, besides the vibrant colors.

The detail I love on this jacket is the fluted end of the sleeve.  Not extreme, just enough so I feel a little more flowing on the end of my arms...LOL

I am loving this outfit, not only do I flow into the room, but I light it up ...HA
